LOCATED HOSTS EARLY CAREER NETWORKING LUNCH

For the second time this year LocatED brings together property professionals to create connections in support of diverse career progression

LocatED last week hosted a networking lunch for over 50 property professionals from across all career stages. Held at the offices of solicitors firm, Mills & Reeve, LocatED brought together people from the sector to help young  and early career professionals build their networks and strengthen their career growth prospects. Attendees were from across the board, including surveyors, engineers, lawyers, architects, planners, HR, finance, project managers.

After a successful inaugural Early Career Networking event held in February this year and a thought-provoking roundtable discussion on the importance of career sponsorship hosted in April, LocatED has continued to promote career progression for young people in property. Keeping up to date with the latest best practice on topics like sponsorship (see this edition of Think from the London Business School for thoughtful insights on authentic sponsorship) is just one way that LocatED continues to look for ways to improve diversity.

Commenting on the networking event, LocatED Chief Executive, Lara Newman said, “This is the second time we have done this kind of event and it really was a great success. Improving pathways into property and encouraging more diversity in the industry is an important goal for LocatED. By fostering connections for young people in property we can help improve career progression while also showing those considering a career in the profession that there are fantastic opportunities in a multitude of areas for people from all backgrounds.

“It is important that initiatives like this continue to be promoted across the sector so that up and down the country we are doing all we can to improve the diversity of our industry in order that it reflects the communities it serves.”
